Prepare a PDI in Affinity
Resize and export a competition-ready image using Serif Affinity.
Competition image requirements
- Fit the complete image within 1600 pixels wide × 1200 pixels high, including portrait images.
- Save as a high-quality JPEG.
- Use the sRGB colour space.
Before resizing
Finish the image and save or export it from Affinity as a JPEG. Convert RAW images to JPEG first. The steps differ for landscape and portrait orientations.
Landscape image
- Open the finished image with File → Open.
- Choose Document → Resize Document. Set Units to Pixels, DPI to 300 and Resample to Bilinear. Tick Resample and make sure the padlock is locked.
- Enter 1600 in the left-hand size field, then press Tab. The other dimension updates proportionally.
- If the resulting height is more than 1200 pixels, cancel, close without saving and follow the portrait method instead.
- Select Resize.
- Choose File → Export and select JPEG.
- Set Preset to JPEG (Best Quality), Resample to Linear, Quality to 100 and Area to Whole Document. Ensure “Don't export layers hidden by Export Persona” is unticked, then select Export.
- Choose or create a destination folder, give the file a meaningful name and select Save.
- Close the document without saving unless you intend to overwrite the original with the smaller image.
